‘Our Victorian Walled Garden, in the heart of rural Somerset, grows and sells one of the largest selections of Edible Plants, Heritage and Heirloom Seeds, Fruit and Herb plants to be found in the UK.’

Wherever possible our seeds and plants are produced by us or especially for us in the United Kingdom.

We use organic methods of culture without pesticides but must stress we are not certified ‘organic’, we believe it is the methods used to grow our plants which are important and are always willing to give assistance in companion planting or the use of natural methods of pest control to our customers.

Heritage & Heirloom Vegetable and Flower Seeds
Huge range, hand selected and packed by us. We also offer a few newer varieties we feel worthy of growing.

Fruit Trees & Bushes
Apples, Pears, Plums, Stone Fruits, Soft Fruit and berries of all descriptions. Selected for disease resistance and productivity, many heritage varieties available.

Seed Potatoes
In the season, January through till March we offer one of the widest ranges available.

Availability varies throughout the season, we offer both annual and perennial varieties as plants as well as seeds.

Edible Plants and Perennial Vegetables

There are many plants we grow in our gardens which have edible leaves, berries, roots or even bark.

We produce a huge range of these and endeavour to give information about preparation and eating these as well as how to grow them. It is important that what you grow tastes good, and our varieties are chosen with this in mind. ‘It is just as easy to grow something with amazing taste as it is to grow something that is tasteless’, (particularly true of Tomatoes or Potatoes!)

Demonstration Vegetable Garden
We have been improving our vegetable garden over the past year and have now added an extra poly tunnel to grow and trial many vegetable varieties. When you visit you may be able to purchase the fruits of our labour as well as viewing the crops.

Non-Edible plants
Many of our edible plants are also attractive in leaf, flower or fruit, but we have traditionally grown one ornamental crop and still continue to do so. Agapanthus have been part of our production since the early days and we still grow many varieties. These late summer plants offer amazing value for money and will flower for many years in pots or in the garden.
