.Onion , Giant Zittau (Golden Round) 'New to us'

Allium cepa, Offering an Intense,  Fine Onion Flavour, Giant Zittau – (dating from around 1885) an old favourite Heirloom said to have its origin in Zittau, the southeastern most city in the German state of Saxony. This  variety  is renowned for its 4 to 5 inch, beautifully round (semi-globe) Onion Shape with light golden skin, offering an intense,  fine onion flavour plus, its a heavy cropper with good keeping qualities, Sow in spring, (or in mild climates, sow in autumn) for early summer harvest.  Not day length sensitive., Seed Count Approx - 175 avg 

  SOWING - Start indoors in February to mid-March, & transplant in April in well worked rich, loose well-drained soil., Planting Depth:  6 mm-12 mm, Germination:  7-12 days,  Height at Maturity: 45 cm   Spread:  10-15 cm
